Dr. Bhawna, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Delhi NCR Campus, Modinagar, Ghaziabad (since August 2023), is a dedicated researcher and academician specializing in nanomaterials and their environmental applications. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Delhi in 2024, with her doctoral research focused on the synthesis and applications of engineered SnO₂ nanoparticles for photocatalytic water splitting, dye degradation, and plastic waste conversion to fuel. Prior to this, she completed her M.Sc. in Chemistry from DCRUST, Murthal in 2016 and her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Ramjas College, University of Delhi in 2014. Her research expertise includes functionalized nanomaterials, crystallography, solid waste management, and water purification, with proficiency in photocatalytic hydrogen generation, degradation of pollutants, and pyrolysis of plastic and biomass waste. She has extensive hands-on experience with advanced characterization techniques such as XRD, FTIR, Raman, BET, UV-DRS, PL, XPS, SEM, TEM, and ICP-MS, as well as instrumental operation including GC (TCD/FID), SEM, UV-spectrophotometer, AFM, and others. Dr. Bhawna has also worked as a JRF on a project titled “Designation and Strategies of Nanocrystals for Photocatalytic Water Splitting” and has presented her work at various international forums. Her achievements include the Young Scientist Award (VBCB-2025), a Grant Award for IWAM 2024, UAE, and Best Poster Awards at international conferences hosted by Clemson University, USA (2020) and ACSN, Delhi (2022). She also qualified for Joint CSIR-UGC JRF and NET, reflecting her strong academic foundation and research excellence.
